In 2009, St. Joseph Health System introduced the VIRGIN HEALTH MILES program to employees at its system office. We wanted to ensure that our own employees are able to take advantage of our wellness initiatives, allowing them to be more productive and satisfied with their work. On any given day, employees can be seen taking the stairs instead of the elevator and making other healthier choices while wearing there Virgin Health Miles pedometer. Since its rollout, hospitals throughout the system have implemented the program to help their employees get moving.
